on the mini

Remember the hat I did for fun (no pattern for that little thing)?

I found this pattern for this cute Christmas tree ornament. I used the double point needles that I had handy. Pattern called for size 7's, I used size 3's. It ended up matching the hat. Here is the sweater on all sorts of needles and pins.

Here they are finished.

We woke up to snow!

We have had one dusting of snow until Sunday. It was so great that we had gone to church Sat. night and we had planned to stay home Sunday. We got to really enjoy it.

Yes, this is Kyle DRIVING the go cart in the snow, by himself. This past summer, he was afraid to even ride in it (afraid the driver would go too fast). This time, he asked to drive it. The best part, he LOVED it and was a wonderful driver!! It was great watching him!!

Hope you had a great day too!!

Corbin's blanket

Corbin wrapped himself in his blanket like this:

Not enough time to knit?

Here's your solution:

In case you can't tell, it's a mini hat. It's sitting on my cell phone for size reference.

Christmas this year was really great. We all had a really good time, and stayed in our jammies all day long. The day flew by as we just enjoyed our new things and each other. What a great treat! We sang happy birthday to dear Jesus, the reason for our celebration. We ate birthday cup cakes in honor of Him and thanked Him throughout our day.

The day after Christmas, I took Corbin to the doctor as his cold felt like it moved into his chest. He had bronchitis. That night, Jake woke up with a croup attack and the usual methods of getting the kids to breath did not work (night time air, steam from the shower) so at 2Am I rushed him to the ER for breathing tx and steriods. The medicine helped him a great deal, and also made him very hyper. We never got back to sleep (meaning two hours of sleep for me that night). I was just grateful that he was okay, my baby.
Hope you felt the magic of the Lord's blessings on you during Christmas!!

knitting again

Okay, I'm back on the knitting wagon again. I love crochet, and still want to do that. I like being able to learn something new and do different things with knitting. I think it's also easier on my wrist (carpal tunnel sneaks up on me).

Here's a hat I knit in the round and learned to knit with two sets of circular needles. Yup, four needles going at once, how fun! Thanks to my friend CherylAnn for giving me the cool spiral pattern!!

I must say thank you to wonderful dh for picking out such a delightful yarn for my stocking! He gives great presents!!

here is a pot holder I did. I wanted to get back into knitting and wanted to use yarn and needles that I currently had to see if it was something I wanted to try to pursue again. (the only other thing I had knit was a ribbed scarf with button hole on one end to poke the other end through instead of tying it). The pot holder idea is a basket weave pattern, which I found to be really pretty.

I didnt' cast on well, so, I dont' think I'll sew any material on the back to finish it. But it's neat to look at!

Hope you're having fun with your projects, what ever they may be!
